The owner of a $500,000 lottery ticket hasn’t claimed it yet, so he could lose the money if he doesn’t soon.
According to the Mississippi Lottery, the ticket, which was purchased in the city of McComb on August 13, 2022, will expire in exactly six days, on February 9, as reported on ABC 11.
It should be noted that another ticket, this one worth $4 million, which was purchased at a Chevron service station in the city of Byram, has not been claimed either.
Said lottery ticket is the largest in the state’s history and will expire on July 2.
The owner of the Chevron gas station said that until the ticket is claimed, he will not receive his commission for selling the multi-million dollar ticket.
“I am also waiting. I only ask God that they will collect it, that way I will get my money, ”she said.
Lottery winners sometimes wait until the last minute to claim their prize because they spend time consulting with financial experts to find the best strategy to manage their money.
