A woman was found dead after firefighters extinguished a fire that ripped through a three-story house in Brooklyn (NYC).
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was found dead inside the residence located on Montauk Avenue near Dumont Avenue in the East New York neighborhood. The official cause of death has not been released. The fire started shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to police and fire officials.
A dozen FDNY units responded, bringing 60 firefighters and EMS paramedics to the scene, it reported. New York Post. The fire was brought under control about 40 minutes later. The cause of the fire was not immediately known and no other information was immediately available on how many people were living in the house.
It was at least the second deadly fire in NYC in just three days, after a fire at a squatter residence Sunday afternoon killed one man and injured two and left dozens homeless in the Bronx. The New York police are looking for a woman suspected of starting the flames.
Also, early Saturday morning an individual was found burned to death after a mysterious car fire in Queens.
