The Danish Martin Braithwaite is showing what he is made of with Espanyol and this Saturday he showed his goalscoring spirit by scoring his fifth win in La Liga Santander against Osasuna. The number 17 goal served to tie the game that his team had lost by the minimum since 45 ′, when the Croatian Ante Budimir scored for the rojillos.
Of course, the point that Braithwaite saved does not serve for Espanyol to stray too far from the relegation zone, which once the 20th day of La Liga Santander is over could breathe from very close, just one point away.
At the moment, the parakeet player is four goals behind Karim Bemzema, current Ballon d’Or player and third in the scoring table of the Spanish league tournament, with nine.
Braithwaite smiles again
When Martin Braithwaite signed for FC Barcelona from Leganés in January 2020, it seemed his career could only go up. He had never played with an elite team before, also having Middlesbrough in the Second Division of the Premier League or Bordeaux in Ligue 1 in his past.
But far from a dream stage, Braithwaite failed to concede the goals that FC Barcelona needed in the midst of a sporting crisis. But also, he did not count on the support of the coaches who were in charge of the culés either.
However, everything is in the past and the Dane is showing his quality in attack with hits on target.
