up-to-$150,000-dollars-would-be-the-prize-that-the-dominican-republic-will-take-for-being-champion-of-the-caribbean-series

Tigres del Licey representing the Dominican Republic are the champions of the 2023 Caribbean Series, managing to beat locals Leones del Caracas 3-0 in the final while Mexico took third place against Colombia.

But the ninth from Quisqueyan takes something more than the trophy and the Caribbean glory; a good cash haul belongs to the champion, which amounts to up to $150,000 dollars.

The exact figure has not been revealed, but several outlets such as El Heraldo de México affirm that the prize is just over $130,000 dollars, while ESPN journalists affirm that the champion will receive $150,000 dollars.

But not only the champion gets his monetary prize, because according to the same sources the runner-up also receives his prize; Leones del Caracas, the ninth place that finished second in the tournament, will receive close to $100,000, while Mexico for finishing third will take home $54,000 in cash.

These prizes are distributed among the players belonging to the roster of the winning team, in the same way there are also individual rewards; the champion bat and the MVP of the final would take $5,000 dollars.
