Costco is turning heads for a new item on its food court menu, a roast beef sandwich for which customers must pay $9.99, one of the most expensive items on the menu.
The store is famous for low prices on food like a hot dog and a 20-ounce soda for $1.50; the $5 rotisserie chicken; and the 18-inch pepperoni pizza for $9.95. So it doesn’t go unnoticed that Costco offers a nearly $10 sandwich at some locations like Lynnwood, Washington.

Costco’s $10 sandwich isn’t a great size to share, it’s a single serving. In addition to sliced roast beef, the seasoned sandwich features a mayonnaise-mustard mix, lettuce, grilled cherry tomatoes and red onions on an artisan ciabatta bun.
Although the cost of the Costco sandwich would be high when compared to other items in its line, equivalent to a whole pizza and two whole chickens. The roast beef sandwich would be selling well and selling out at some locations.
The TikTok account @costcoaisles shared a video of the nearly $10 sandwich. When users asked about its flavor and size, they were told that they didn’t get a chance to try the new sandwich because it was already out of stock at their local Costco.
“A rotisserie chicken, a slice of pizza, and a hot dog and drink combo is still cheaper than that sandwich,” one Reddit user commented.
Reddit users who have tried the sandwich say it tastes good but find $10 too much. “It’s hard to go for this when you know you can get a whole pizza,” one commented.
For some consumers, Costco’s sandwich launch could be a test market to see if people will buy more expensive items in the food court.
