The Brazilian legend Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, better known in the world of soccer as Ronaldinho, returned to the pitch during a match of the Kings League, the Spanish league chaired by former FC Barcelona soccer player Gerard Piqué.
Ronaldinho had been confirmed last Thursday as the number 12 player of the Porcinos FC team for the match against Pío FC and this Sunday he was part of the team despite his 42 years of age.
Despite the defeat of his team by criminal means, the number 10 stole all eyes and broadcast cameras, being regularly focused during his work as a striker in the seven-player team.
Although in the first half he did not have great chances of danger, the second part of the two periods of 20 minutes each did bring emotions and they all came thanks to one of the styles of play that characterized him during his career: mastery of ball.
As soon as the complement ‘La Sonrisa del Fútbol’ resumed, he received it from behind and settled the ball to finish off from the right but his shot went just wide; minutes later he would perfectly repeat the play, which this time would end with the rejection of the Pío FC goalkeeper.
Although the match ended 0-0 and gave rise to penalty kicks, the Brazilian ended up without taking any, because according to his own words he did not understand the modality (MLS penalties).
“Let someone else run,” he said in a conversation with the referees who were explaining the penalty kick, causing laughter from those present.
The madness that Ronaldinho generated not only focused on his participation on the pitch but also revolutionized the Kings League. According to league data, the match in which he participated had more than two million viewers across all Twitch channels, a competition record.
Hours before, Ronaldinho arrived at the pavilion in a limousine along with the rest of Porcinos FC and was received, despite the heavy rain, with a Brazilian samba that accompanied him to the pitch.
In this way Ronaldinho plays a match again, continuing with other presentations he has had in recent months such as a friendly in Miami against Roberto Carlos’s team or when he was invited to the ‘Yellow Night’ by Barcelona de Guayaquil in Ecuador.
