A Queens man is in critical condition several days after he tried to stop a group of criminals from stealing his vehicle.
On Monday, Taurée Thompson, 28, left her Lexus running at a Taco Bell in Richmond Hill, authorities said.
The victim was inside the food joint when the group approached the car and entered.
Thompson then quickly rushed to the Lexus, tried to open the doors, and then jumped onto the roof of the vehicle.
In a video from security cameras, you can see the thieves running down the street while the man was still clinging to the roof of the car.
At some point, the person behind the wheel lost control of the vehicle and struck a fire hydrant causing it to flip on its side.
The victim was thrown out of the Lexus and hit the asphalt, and the robbers got out of the car and fled the scene.
When officials arrived, Thompson was unconscious with severe trauma to her body, Fox 5 NY reported.
As of Thursday, two 15-year-olds have been charged, while police are after a third suspect.
The victim’s family created a GoFundMe page on behalf of Taurée Thompson to raise money for medical expenses.
According to the page, doctors had to remove the right side of his skull to reduce swelling in the brain and keep him alive.
