elvis-presley's-childhood-home-sold-for-$40,000

Star Elvis Presley’s childhood home in Tupelo, Mississippi, was recently sold to a man who has long-term plans for the property.

This information was disseminated by the British media ‘The Sun’, who spoke with Jeffrey Marren, owner of the auction house Rockhurst Auctions.

The house that saw the rock and roll star grow up was initially auctioned for £25,000, which works out to $30,000, and eventually sold for £35,000 or just over $40,000.

According to Marren, the new owner intends to demolish the current site and rebuild the house as a replica. “The owner plans to put the house back together, outfitting it with 1930s furniture and household items and then adding other Elvis collectibles,” she said.

The place may become a museum showcasing the singer’s life, much like the grand Memphis, Tennessee mansion that Presley bought upon his rise to fame. It should be remembered that the remains of the singer and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley rest on that same property, known as Graceland.

The general public can visit the great mansion, they only have to pay between $26 and $47 dollars.

Among the new plans of the owner of the humble house is also to record a documentary in which the entire reconstruction process is related. It is not clear if all these projects already have the approval of the Presley family or if it would need it.

It should also be taken into account that the family is not going through the best moment after the sudden death of Lisa Marie Presley on January 12.

It has even been said that Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley’s ex-wife, is in disagreement with his deceased daughter’s will and apparently has come into conflict with his granddaughter Riley Keough.
