fernando-tatis-jr.-shakes-the-major-leagues-with-his-return-to-diamonds:-“i'm-ready”

The San Diego Padres received the important news that this week they will finally have the debut of Fernando Tatis Jr. for spring training corresponding to the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) season; the fact represents the incorporation of one of the most important offensive figures of the franchise.

The information was released by the manager of the San Diego Padres himself, Bob Melvin, who explained that the player will join the sports institution this Tuesday for the game they will play against the San Francisco Giants in Scottdale, in the state of Arizona.

“What we’re trying to do is take you through all the possible scenarios you might see in a game and let you know, ‘How does that feel?’ Then, once he gets into a game, it will be quite instinctive for him,” according to the MLB.com portal.

“He is an instinctive player. Maybe [está preocupado] a little more than everyone else, due to injuries. But if you start thinking about what you’re doing, you could just as easily get injured.”

This game will mark Tatis’ return to the majors after missing the 2022 season with wrist surgery and an 80-game suspension for violating MLB’s drug policy to improve game performance.

“I’m ready. I’m just taking steps for the manager and the team, but I’m definitely ready,” Tatis said.

The Dominican has been able to participate without restrictions in current spring training and has even already shown his power by hitting a couple of singles in a simulated game against Cuban pitcher Adrián Morejón.

“I just want to go out. I miss the game a lot. As I mentioned, I haven’t been in the field for a long time. I just want to be with the guys, within that lineup,” Tatis concluded.

It is important to remember that the player still has to serve a 20-game suspension, although this does not prohibit him from playing in Spring Training.
