Some 30 people of unknown immigration status are wanted by federal and local authorities, after managing to enter Puerto Rico this Monday in a boat along the northwestern coast of the island, the Police reported.

At about 05:05 (09:05 GMT) today, agents of the Maritime Units of the United Rapid Action Forces, attached to the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, detected a boat with a group of people that arrived along the coast of the neighborhood Córcega de Rincón, as explained in a report.

The detection occurred as part of a preventive maritime surveillance, in which a vessel devoid of navigation lights of about 25 feet (8 meters) in length was sighted arriving at the Rincón coast.

About 30 people were traveling on the boat, as detailed by the Police in a report, who dispersed throughout the area when they landed.

Police only managed to arrest one woman.

Officials from the United States Customs and Border Protection Office in Puerto Rico joined the search for the rest of the undocumented.
