Three members of the ‘Rust’ film crew have filed a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
People say they suffered from anxiety and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder after the fatal shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021. Just last week, Baldwin pleaded not guilty in the current case against him.
The plaintiffs, including dolly operator Ross Addiego, costume designer Doran Curtin and key grip Reese Price, were on set at New Mexico’s Bonanza Creek Ranch when Baldwin’s gun fired at Hutchins, also striking Hutchins. gravity to director Joel Souza.
Addiego, Curtin and Price all claim they were in close proximity to Baldwin, 64, when the gun was fired and suffered “Blast Injuries” from the deafening sound of the gunshot.
The complaint accuses Baldwin of not paying attention during weapons training, failing to ensure the gun was not loaded with a live bullet, and firing the cartridge. The actor’s representatives have not spoken publicly about this new lawsuit.
Prosecutors recently charged Baldwin with manslaughter for allegedly firing the gun while pointed at Hutchins.
Initially, the actor denied allegations that he ever pulled the trigger on the prop weapon, but prosecutors argued that “Photos and videos clearly show Baldwin, multiple times, with his finger inside the trigger guard and on the trigger.” before the deadly shooting.
Despite the scandal and problems in court, the movie “Rust” is scheduled to resume production this spring.
