Alexia Putellas repeats FIFA The Best as Best Player
Perhaps the announcement that caused the least impact was The Best obtained by Alexia Putellas, because despite having the English Beth Mead and the American Alex Morgan as competitors, it is no coincidence that the Spaniard has been chosen as the Ballon d’Or consecutively in 2021 and 2022.
Best Goalkeeper: Dibu Martínez
The Argentine Emiliano Dibu Martínez has been chosen as the best goalkeeper of FIFA. His almost impeccable participation in the World Cup with Argentina has earned him success as the best goalkeeper in FIFA.
The battle for this category was quite close given the achievements of each one. Dibu Martínez shone with Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Thibaut Courtois was fundamental for Real Madrid in the conquest of La Liga Santander 2021/22 and the Champions League that season; while Yassine Bounou was a figure in the 2022 World Cup with the Moroccan team that surprised locals and strangers and got fourth place.
Finally, the Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni, was chosen as the best coach in the world. On the women’s side, the winner was the coach of the England team, Sarina Wiegman.
