This Monday, February 27, Wallet Hub published a report stating that the state of New York is the second city where women are least harmed, preceded by Vermont as the best state in the United States and third is Massachusetts. These figures are calculated based on crimes against women, income taking into account the cost of living in the state and unemployment.
In addition to these points, there would also be the medical prevention of women and the homicide rate. “Women in some parts of the United States will continue to be hardest hit, even if they outnumber men in most states,” Wallet Hub notes at the start of the report.
In that sense, they emphasized that unfortunately women represent more than two thirds of all minimum wage workers in the United States. This would call into question or precariousness the political representation of women, taking into account that they represent almost 51% of the US population, according to Wallet Hub.
The report highlights that the state where the most homicides against women are committed is Alaska, which is in sharp contrast to the safest place, according to the femicide rate, which is Pennsylvania in the northern United States. In addition, the firm stressed that Nevada is the place where minor women manage to study, complete and graduate from high school, contrasting with the figures for Nebraska, which is the entity with the largest number of women graduated from secondary education.
New York in numbers
Given these figures, New York is the fifth state with the most homicides against women in the entire country. Sumado ranks third in economic well-being for women and fifth in medical prevention for women.
