The New York Lottery reported that Catherine Laudonio, who lives on Long Island, purchased a $2 lottery ticket at a 7-Eleven store located at 383 Smithtown Road. Thanks to this ticket, she won a prize where they would give her $1,000 a week for the rest of her life, but she decided to get the money in another way.
Catherine Laudonio bought a $2 lottery ticket at a 7-Eleven store on Long Island. The ticket guarantees you to receive at least $1 million dollars. However, instead of receiving $1,000 a week for the rest of her life, she decided to have the entire payment in one deposit.
After the taxes were taken out, Laudonio ended up receiving $459,338.
Lottery officials said there were still four main prizes left on the ‘Win $1,000 a Week For Life’ ticket.

According to lottery officials, combined sales of the Scratch-Off games during the 2012-2022 fiscal year totaled $4,517,682,111.
Suffolk County school districts received $270,015,864 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during that same period.
