Manchester United won the Carabao Cup after beating Newcastle 2-0 and for their fans everything was cause for celebration, as the team managed to lift a trophy after more than six years.
Erik ten Hag, with his usually serious face, joined the dances of the Latin American players Antony and Lisando Martínez, an action that was criticized by the British journalist Piers Morgan.
“I can’t believe I’m seeing a Manchester United, coach and players dancing for joy after winning the Carabao Cup… so embarrassing,” were the words Morgan, who was recently trending for the interview he conducted with Cristiano Ronaldo at the beginning of November and in which the Portuguese made strong remarks to the Los Diablos Rojos board of directors that ended up costing him his link with the club.
Morgan is an open fan of Arsenal and during his interview with Cristiano Ronaldo he agreed with the Portuguese in many of the criticisms of United.
With a goal from Casemiro and an own goal from Sven Botman, Manchester United clinched the Carabao Cup, something they had not achieved since the 2016/17 season when they defeated Southampton Football Club in the final.
Now, Ten Hag’s team will seek to give a coup of authority in The Old Continent when on March 9 they face Real Betis Balompié for the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League.
