Two New Yorkers are $50,000 richer thanks to a third-prize Powerball ticket.
The New York Lottery reportedly announced that two third-prize tickets were sold in the state for the draw that took place on Saturday, February 25.
One ticket was sold at Anurag Maheshwari on Broadway in Manhattan and another at Smokes 4 Less on Plank Road in Newburgh.
The winning tickets had four matching numbers and the Powerball.
The numbers that resulted in the New York winners on Saturday are: 11-24-58-66-67 and the red Powerball 26.
The jackpot for next Wednesday’s draw amounts to $131 million, according to Silive.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retail location for $2, seven days a week. The deadline to purchase a ticket is 9:45 on the night of the drawing.
Draws are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Likewise, the New York Lottery calls on players to buy their tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the last minute.
Winning Powerball numbers are drawn from a field from one to 69. Powerball numbers are drawn from a separate field from one to 26. The Powerball drawing airs every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. the night.
Wednesday night’s drawing will have an estimated total value of $526 million.
To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in no specific order and the red Powerball number.
Participants will be able to securely verify their tickets in the New York Lottery app.
