rafa-nadal's-ordeal-continues:-injuries-keep-him-out-of-indian-wells-and-miami-masters

The Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal continues to experience an ordeal with the injuries that have haunted him in the last stretch of his career and that by 2023 will prevent him from playing at Indian Wells, the first ATP tournament of the year, and he will also miss the Masters 1,000 of Miami.

The unfortunate news was announced by the tennis player himself through his social networks, where he stated that he felt very sad for not being able to be in the best physical condition for these two tournaments and stressed his hope of being completely healthy for the other events of the season. .

“I’m sad that I won’t be able to compete in Indian Wells or Miami. It makes me very sad not to be there. I will miss all my American fans, but I hope to see you later this year during the summer swing”, Nadal expressed on his Twitter account.

“I took some time off, I started rehabilitation, gym and physiotherapy as the doctors told me. Getting ready to return in the best conditions”, pointed out the 36-year-old Spaniard.

The current physical problems of the former world number one began while he was participating in the Australian Open, in mid-January, when he injured the iliopsoas in his left leg, a muscle that performs very important functions and is often the cause of lower back pain.

According to experts, recovery from this type of injury can take between six and eight weeks, so Rafa Nadal was hoping to be ready to play in Indian Wells, although it will not be possible.

In fact, at the beginning of February, the European tennis player reported that he would not participate in a tennis exhibition that took place on March 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, against his compatriot, the young Carlos Alcaraz.

It should be remembered that the Indian Wells tournament will take place in California, between March 8 and 19. While the Miami Masters 1,000 will be played between March 22 and April 2.
