suspected-perpetrator-of-three-florida-shootings-faces-more-murder-charges

MIAMI – The 19-year-old boy arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a chain of shootings in central Florida (USA) that left three fatalities and the same number injured faces new murder charges, the County Sheriff’s Office reported on Tuesday. Orange.

An arrest warrant released today by Sheriff John Mina brings to three the number of first-degree murder charges facing Keith Melvin Moses, who was arrested the same day and charged with only one count.

Moses is accused of fatally shooting 9-year-old T’yonna Major; Nathacha Augustin, 38, and television reporter Dylan Lyons, 24.

The young man also faces two counts of attempted murder for the injuries suffered by the mother of the minor, who has not been identified, and the cameraman for the local channel Spectrum News 13 Jesse Walden, who had to be admitted to local hospitals.

According to the arrest warrant, Moses began the succession of attacks when he shot Augustin on February 22 shortly after being approached from a vehicle in which the fatality was traveling.

Hours later, the young man returned to the scene of the crime and entered a house through the back door where he shot the minor and the mother, who was wounded in the arm. Both barricaded themselves in a bathroom and called the police.

After this attack, Moses returned to the street and headed towards the vehicle of the press team, which was not identified as such, according to the agents.

The youth first shot the cameraman, who was outside the vehicle removing equipment from the rear, and then shot dead the reporter, who was inside.

A team from local channel WFTV, which was also covering the morning’s shooting, videotaped the attacker and assisted the victims until the police and paramedics arrived.

Minutes later, Moses was arrested nearby by police officers, who discovered a gun still hot in one of his pants pockets, a sign that it had just been used, as the police report points out.

Moses, who has a criminal record since he was a minor, was initially taken to a local hospital and later made available to the authorities, with whom he has refused to provide any statement.
