The singer Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, will debut as an actor in a film directed by Trey Edward Shults, in which Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan will also participate, the film has no title yet.
The Weeknd had already mentioned his desire to venture into acting since he was nominated for an Oscar in 2016 for Best Original Song for “Earned It”, which he performed for the film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.
Jenna Ortega and Keoghan decided to participate in this film because they were impressed with the script written by Reza Fahim. In recent months these actors have been among the most sought after in Hollywood due to their popularity.
Barry Keoghan has been in the spotlight in recent months for his participation in ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’, a film that is nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture, while Jenna Ortega became one of the most popular actresses last year for her starring in the series ‘Wednesday’, which was produced by Netflix and directed by Tim Burton.
As of now, the release date of the film is unknown.
