woman-buys-$20-lottery-scratch-off-by-mistake-and-ends-up-winning-$50,000

A woman from the city of Salisbury, Maryland, made a mistake when buying a lottery scratch-off ticket at the Royal Farms store and this made her win $50,000 instantly.

The woman tried to buy a scratch-off from a vending machine, but instead of buying a $2 one, she ended up choosing a $20 one by mistake.

At first, the woman was upset because she spent much more than she intended and thought it would be a waste of money. However, to her surprise, the ‘$50,000 Cash’ game ticket contained the top prize of $50,000 cash.

According to the Maryland State Lottery authorities, the lucky winner was still in shock when she went to claim her prize at headquarters.

The player said she had no plans on what she will do with the money. On the other hand, the Royal Farms store where the woman purchased the winning ticket will receive a $500 bonus just for selling the winning ticket.

The ‘$50,000 Cash’ game launched in December and has 160 prizes of $50,000. There are still 138 of those winning tickets yet to be won.
