A year ago and a few days after the start of the war with Russia, the European Union formally received the request from the government of Volodimir Zelenski to the European Union (EU) to form part of the bloc of countries. According to some experts, if Ukraine had been part of the EU for years, the Kremlin would not have made the decision to invade the country.
In this sense, Zelensky reiterated that clear actions must be taken regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European bloc. In a recent message posted on Twitter, the president stated that it is time for talks to begin for the candidate nation to become part of the European Union.
The Ukrainian president affirmed that his country has come closer to the European Union “as never before”. “Together in the fight, together in victory. Long live Europe! Long live freedom!”, published the Ukrainian leader.
The situation in Donestk
While Zelensky requested that the talks to enter the European Union be resumed, the situation in Bakhmut, in Donestk is becoming more and more difficult. The president admitted that he fears a significant advance by the Russians. “In Bakhmut the situation is becoming more and more difficult (…) The enemy is constantly destroying everything that can be used to protect our positions,” said the president.
This situation was reported by Zelenski, hours after Russian sources in the Donetsk region reported the arrival of a shipment of toxic substances to be used by the United States in a plan supported by Ukraine.
In this sense, the sources affirm that the shipment of chemical material arrived by train on February 10 in Kramatorsk in metal boxes, half of which were marked with the letters BZ and two red lines.
