canelo-alvarez-will-enter-more-than-$14,000,000-dollars-for-the-fight-in-guadalajara

The boxer from Guadalajara, Canelo Álvarez, will fight again in Jalisco 12 years after his last appearance, and will do so as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the city. And as usual in the fights of the Mexican, the economic details of the fight have already begun to be revealed and Forbes has announced that the fighter will earn just over $14,000,000 dollars.

Of the stratospheric figure, just for getting into the boxing ring, Caleno will earn $10,000,000, while the rest would come from sponsorships.

Although there is still no official confirmation, at the moment it is handled that the fight will take place on May 6 at the Jalisco Stadium and the rival to beat would be the Interim Super Middleweight champion, the British John Ryder.

“I am ready to return home and defend my titles in the place where I was born and where my story began, with the people who have always supported me,” were Canelo’s words through a post on his Instagram account.

In mid-February, the governor of the state of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, made the location of the fight public through a video on Twitter.

“This 2023, Jalisco celebrates 200 years free and sovereign. Two centuries of a history of struggle written by women and men who gave direction to our nation. Today we want to honor our past through those who uphold the name of Jalisco in the present,” Alfaro said.
