It all happened in 2011. In that year, Jan was working at said institution when she was contacted by a person who claimed to be Elon Musk and asked her for that amount of money in exchange for later, he would invest millions of dollars in the institution she ran. .

The woman and the alleged Elon Musk were in contact online for a long time, about 4 months, and that is how he convinced her to sign a check for him.

The institution’s board of directors found out about this and warned McGee that everything looked like a scam; However, she did not pay attention and made the decision to give the money that she was asking for, so she signed the check in the name of the impostor Musk.

Fortunately, the scammer was unable to collect it, as the school’s business manager stopped the transaction before the payment was made. This situation and the fact that the woman was being accused of creating a toxic environment in her workplace cost her her job.
