The Águilas of Club América have received a hard blow for this final stretch of the current Clausura 2023 tournament of the Liga MX, due to the fact that Colombian striker Roger Martínez suffered an injury that will keep him away from the competition for at least three weeks, as reported the whole of Coapa through a statement released on their social networks.
The Azulcrema institution detailed in the medical report that the coffee player suffered an injury to his right thigh during the friendly match that the team played in the city of San Diego, in the United States, against the Xolos de Tijuana while the double was taking place. FIFA date corresponding to the month of March to keep the team in optimal conditions for the remainder of the tournament.
The document also details that Martínez specifically suffered a fibrillar tear in his right thigh, for which the organization’s doctors will keep him under observation until he is fully recovered.
“Club América informs that the Colombian player has an injury to the right femoral biceps, first degree myofibrillar tear,” the club said on its Twitter account.
This injury further extends the bad moment that Roger Martínez is going through within Club América, because he has lost ownership in recent games due to the great moment that Jonathan Rodríguez is going through, who has become a piece of great importance for Fernando ‘Tano’ Ortíz’s offensive scheme so far in the Clausura 2023 tournament.
This exclusion by the coaching staff would also be supported by the fact that these are the last months remaining on the contract for the Colombian attacker, with whom they have no interest in renewing their contract and have focused on finding the perfect replacement to support Henry Martín in the upper part of the playing field.
