On March 31, 1995, the fateful news of the murder of Selena Quintanilla hit the world of entertainment and more. Nobody expected something like this, especially since there was no talk of problems around the life of the interpreter of “Como la flor”.
His murderer on that dark day was none other than the president of his fan club, Yolanda Saldívar, who also held the position of manager of his boutiques. Selena met with Saldívar at the Days Inn Hotel in Corpus Christi, because she apparently wanted to confront her about alleged embezzlement.
Why did he kill Selena? That is the question that many continue to ask themselves to this day. She says it was an accident. Yolanda Saldívar was found guilty of first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
Yolanda Saldívar began her life sentence in November 1995.
The subject of her possible release came to light, because after 30 years of sentence, she can request her release. It is known then that in the year 2025, at the age of 65, Yolanda Saldívar could be released on parole. Ella Saldívar will be eligible for parole in 2025.
It is public knowledge that Yolanda Saldívar lives in complete isolation in a Mountain View Unit female prison in Gatesville, Texas.
