After the first FIFA date of 2023, the engines start in the major European leagues and the coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, has offered a large press conference prior to the match against Elche this Saturday, where he referred to the possible return of Messi to the club and about the status of Ansu Fati.
This Sunday the vice-president of FC Barcelona, Raya Yuste, declared that he would “love Messi to return to the club”. Hernández was asked about it, to which he replied that his focus is on getting the two titles that he has at stake.
“We are one step away from winning titles and now we are talking about the players who can come next year. We are going to focus on Elche and the Cup semifinal”, were Xaxi’s words.
But Xavi also took the opportunity to give indications about his wishes with the return of La Pulga: “Messi is a subject that we are dealing with. I have a friendship with him but it is being done and hopefully it can be done (the signing). I would like him to come back to help us ”.
“If he has the will and wants to return, we will talk about it, but we haven’t talked about it too much. I have a friendship and a relationship and if he wants to come back, I’m delighted, ”she said.
Finally, Xavi Hernández spoke about Ansu Fati, whose father recently expressed that his wish is for his son to leave the Blaugrana club, given that he does not have many minutes.
“I keep trying to make Ansu happy and at ease. I have confidence and total faith in Ansu. He is a player who can make a difference in every match”, he said.
FC Barcelona will face Elche this Saturday, April 1 for matchday 27 of La Liga Santander. The Blaugrana club currently leads the tournament comfortably, with 12 points more than its closest competitor, Real Madrid.
