zelensky-affirms-that-the-conversions-between-xi-jinping-and-putin-were-a-failure

After the annual speech of the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in which he did not rule out asking his allies in the Russian government for strategic nuclear weapons, the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, said that the meeting between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin was a failure for make progress towards a peace agreement. According to Lukashenko, he would make this request to defend the sovereignty of his country.

For the Ukrainian leader, the meeting between the two leaders did not produce significant progress in resolving the conflict. “The signal that Russia wants to deploy its nuclear weapons in Belarus indicates to me that the meeting with China is the expected success (…),” Zelensky told reporters during a tour on the anniversary of the Bucha massacre.

He also stated that the Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, completely lost relevance in his country, alleging that “he has no decision-making capacity over what type of weapons are housed in his country. The United States has so far played down “nuclear moves” by both countries, saying there are no indications that Russia will use nuclear weapons.

Earlier it was learned that Lukashenko took this measure by sending a message to Western countries so that they “understand his decision”, in addition to not considering “destabilizing the situation”. “The scoundrels abroad must understand (…) If necessary, we with Putin will decide and introduce strategic nuclear weapons,” he said during his annual address to the National Assembly.

Last week Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a plan to place tactical nuclear weapons in his neighbor and ally Belarus in a response to the presence of US-owned nuclear weapons in Europe. Putin alleges that the United States carries out these same actions in European Union countries such as Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Greece.

On the other hand, the most recent statements regarding a possible peace agreement came from France, which would be close to having a presidential meeting between Emmanuel Macron and Xi Jinping. It is known that the French president will warn his counterpart of the consequences of supplying arms to Russia.
