A 77-year-old man is facing charges in Florida for sexually abusing a girl who was 7 at the time, authorities in Miami-Dade County said this week.
The victim, now 15, told the police that Eladio Alfonso Coalla had touched her vagina under her clothes.
The complainant told investigators that the incident occurred when Coalla told her that she had to sleep in her room because a lamp in the visitor’s room had broken and the bed was full of glass.
In the middle of the dream, the minor got up when she felt the man’s hand inside her pants touching her private part.
The victim removed Coalla’s hand and went back to sleep.
The young woman reported that she did not think anything about Coalla’s touching at that moment because she was small.
The teenager added that she decided to reveal the abuse now after learning that he allegedly did the same to a cousin.
The relationship between the victim and the perpetrator is not clear; nor if the authorities investigate the additional complaint for the alleged touching of the cousin.
