At least eleven deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours due to the strong tornadoes that have swept through the southern and western United States. Among the incidents caused by strong breezes and rain, the roof collapsed at the Apollo Theater in Illinois, where the death metal band Morbid Angel was performing.

Although authorities estimate nine people dead, it is believed that it could increase in the near future because search and rescue efforts are still underway in the states of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee. While in the Morbid Angel incident 28 people were injured and five of them are in serious condition.

Given these events that occurred in the southern and western United States, the governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, declared a state of emergency after the authorities reported the death of a North Little Rock resident and four other people in Wynne. Missouri also in a state of emergency.

The regional governor also made the state National Guard available to face the ravages of bad weather. “We will spare no resources to help with response and recovery efforts for affected Arkansans,” Sanders said on Twitter, adding that

In addition to tornadoes in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Missouri, the National Weather Service (NWS) has reported tornadoes in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Mississippi. According to the National Weather Service, the storm will move east on Saturday, so Alabama and Georgia are on the lookout for any eventuality.
