Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Liverpool this Saturday in the Premier League not only hit Reds fans, but coach Jurgen Klopp was also affected and not because of the result but because of an attack he suffered after the game .
During Liverpool’s departure from the Etihad Stadium, Klopp entered the bus in which he was going to start his return trip with the squad when an object hit the window where the DT was located.
The information was released by Manchester City on their social networks, with a statement in which they reproached the actions of the fan who carried out the attack.
“Manchester City have been informed that the Liverpool manager sustained damage on his return journey after today’s game. We understand that an object was thrown towards the bus in a residential area. Incidents of this type are totally unacceptable, and we strongly condemn the actions of the person(s) responsible,” the Manchester entity denounced on its website.
In the same way, the Citizens announced that they will undertake an investigation in collaboration with the police to find the perpetrators of the act.
Until now, Liverpool have not ruled on the aggression or Klopp’s state of health.
Likewise, the locals showed their disappointment with the “inappropriate chants” of sectors of local fans during the match between the two teams in Manchester.
“We regret any offense these chants may have caused and we will continue to work with fan groups and employees of both clubs to eradicate hateful chants from this match,” the text closed.
