The New York Police reported the murder of Emanuel Pippis, 44, who was shot in the head a few meters from his home early this Sunday. Pippis was outside the live music and steakhouse Paraguayan Steakhouse on 65th Place near 53rd Drive in Maspeth.

According to the police report at around 3:50 a.m., Pippis was almost home when a gunman opened fire on him. So far, no arrests have been made for this murder, which would be the second in police precinct 104 that had only registered the death of Alexa Ruiz on January 11.

The information that is known about Ruiz’s murder is that she was found shot in the back of the head. She was in her room, located three blocks from the murder of Pippis. Police precinct 104 did not attend a homicide between 2020 and 2022.

During this same weekend, the New York Police (NYPD) responded to the call at the corner of Steinway St. and Astoria Boulevard in Queens, after a shooting was recorded on a street full of restaurants in Astoria where two people died. due to gunshot wounds.

Responding NYPD officers found 22-year-old Xavier Roberts lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach and legs, along with 21-year-old Jaheim Hamilton with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Both victims were from Harlem and were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, but first responders were unable to save them.

So far the authorities have not been able to identify the person responsible for these deaths. In addition, the NYPD had gone a year without reporting a homicide in Astoria.
