The Yankees overwhelmingly prevailed this Saturday 6-0 against the San Francisco Giants to prevail in the first series of the 2023 Major League Baseball season, but the one who took all the prominence was for the slugger Giancarlo Stanton, with a gruesome quadrangular.
In the bottom of the third inning, with the Yankees leading 1-0, Stanton punished Ross Stripling’s throws when a low-zone slider sent the ball straight into the stands.
But it wasn’t just any home run that the fourth bat hit, but a 485-footer with an exit velocity of 117.8 mph, a stat that exalts the hit.
Together with Stanton’s performance, the match ended 4-1 with runs scored and two RBIs, Dominican Jhony Brito got the victory by working for five scoreless innings, six strikeouts and two singles allowed.
In this way, the Yankees get their second victory of the season after they fell 7-5 against the Californians on Saturday in a game where Giancarlo Stanton delivered the last out with a double play shot.
