The main judge Fernando Hernández will be investigated by the Commission of Referees of the Mexican Football Federation, for kneeing the soccer player from León, Lucas Romero.

The event occurred in the match between América and León held at the Azteca Stadium.

“The referee commission will open an investigation process into the events that occurred with the referee Fernando Hernández. The resolution will be released to public opinion,” the Federation said.

Hernández kneed the player from León amid the claims of the La Fiera soccer players after a goal scored by América in the second half.

The players protested a hand in order for the referee to review the play, and in the broadcast of the match it was recorded when the main judge sent Romero to the grass from the blow.

From what was seen in the videos and the level of pain he showed, the knee went directly to the crotch of the player Lucas Romero.

After that, the match stopped for several minutes while the players continued to protest, this time, against the attack.

The referee could suffer a suspension of up to 15 games if his aggression is confirmed.
