Everton and Tottenham experienced a vibrant meeting on Monday after the 1-1 draw in the match that closed day 29 of the Premier League. But though the thrilling match had a key moment in which London striker Harry Kane was hit in the face by midfielder Abdoulaye Doucuré.
In the midst of an incessant attack by Everton and Tottenham to look for the first goal of the game, Kane, Tottenham’s captain went to dispute a ball with Gray in the middle of the field but in the clash both ended up on the floor.
However, what seemed like an isolated play ended with pushes from side to side and in the case of Doucuré who came to defend his teammate ended with an impulsive reaction that cost him a red card.
The Malian-born Frenchman raised his left fist and punched Kane wordlessly, despite being just yards from the main referee.
For this reason, Doucuré went to the locker room at minute 58′ of the game, leaving his team with 10.
In the end, although Kane himself recovered and managed to score a penalty that put Tottenham ahead, at minute 90 ‘the center-back Michael Keane put the parity for the final 1-1.
