The Major Leagues has had a great start to the season, leaving moments of great emotion and history, some of which are starring Boston Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall and Colorado Rockies first baseman CJ Cron, who were chosen as Players of the Week in the American and National League, respectively.
Duvall had an outstanding performance in the three-game series against the Baltimore Oriols, hitting .571 with two home runs, three doubles, one triple, eight RBIs and six runs scored. He also posted a 1.957 OPS and a .600 on-base percentage.
But Saturday’s game was the most special for the Red Sox outfielder, as one of the two homers he hit that day served to leave the Baltimore team on the field, thus capping off a night in which he hit even four hits.
For his part, CJ Cron was not far behind and was a fundamental player for the Rockies to win two of the four games they played in an important first series against the powerful San Diego Padres.
In that series, the first baseman batted .467 with three home runs, two doubles, seven RBIs and three runs scored in 14 at-bats. He also posted a 1.729 OPS and a .529 on-base percentage.
It should be noted that this is the first time that Adam Duvall has been recognized as Player of the Week in the MLB, while for CJ Cron, it is the second time that he has received this honor.
