A man was found dead after being stabbed in the neck while in the elevator hall of a Bronx apartment building, authorities said Sunday.

The victim identified as Andre Harry was found dead on the floor of a building on E. 175th St. near Prospect Avenue in Crotona at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, officials said. The individual lived one block away.

Agents did not find the murder weapon at the scene and a spokesman for the New York Police Department had no information at this time on the motivation for the crime.

On Sunday night, officers revealed that Hispanic Ricardo Nieves, 34, was arrested for the murder, the Daily News reported.

Harry had an extensive criminal record, with 31 previous arrests to his credit, according to police sources.

The victim’s acquaintances placed prayer candles to honor her memory inside the building on Sunday morning.

“It’s a mess, it really is. I have no idea what’s going on, or why it happened. I grew up with this boy. Since day one,” said a friend, Benny, 51.

“Her mother just passed away. She’s resting, and now he’s resting.”

According to Benny, Harry was born and raised in the neighborhood. “I’m sad that this is happening,” he said. “This is not normal.”
