mcdonald's-temporarily-closes-its-us-offices-and-prepares-for-a-wave-of-layoffs

McDonald’s will close its US headquarters this week. The measure will be temporary and occurs because, apparently, the company is preparing to inform the corporation’s employees about a new wave of layoffs.

The reason for this cut is that McDonald’s is looking to restructure.

McDonald’s announced last week to its employees in the United States, and some internationally, to start working from home. The company has not yet clarified how many workers it plans to lay off.

“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions regarding staffing roles and levels across the organization,” McDonald’s said in the email, according to Reuters.

McDonald’s has not released an official press comment on this matter.

McDonald’s said in January it would review the number of corporate-level workers as part of an updated business strategy, which could lead to layoffs in some areas and expansion in others.

McDonald’s is expected to begin announcing key decisions on Monday.
