The New York Yankees experienced a difficult moment this Sunday during the game against the San Francisco Giants, because they continue to make important changes in the outfield and other parts of the diamond to generate a comfortable generational change in some of these positions.
The problem is due to the fact that one of the main stars of the ‘Bronx Bombers’ has not yet started any game as a starter this season in the Major Leagues and this Sunday he broke out against manager Aaron Boone.
According to the journalist Brendan Kuty, from The Athletic, this player was Aaron Hicks who showed his anger for having been left on the bench again for the game they played against the team from the bay; the one appointed to take his place was Isaiah Kiner-Falefa.
“I have no idea what my role is. It’s a bit uncertain. I just want to play. I don’t want to come off the bench and face closers all day. I want to play on the field, I want to play every day, and it’s just what I want to do, ”said Aaron Hicks in his statement.
In a press conference prior to the game against the Giants, Boone detailed that Hicks’ role will be “a little bit of everything,” so he plans to use him in various ways in each of the games due to his experience.
“He’s going to play. Today wasn’t necessarily the matchup I love. He would probably expect him to be there for the next few days,” the manager explained.
Hicks didn’t put up the numbers expected by the New York Yankees last season, finishing with a .216 batting average with 40 RBIs and 10 stolen bases in 130 games played.
