This Monday the New York Police Department (NYPD) published three photos taken with surveillance cameras in which the suspects in the murder of two young men from Harlem are seen walking along Astoria Boulevard. According to the authorities in this shooting, at least 14 firearms were detonated during the event.
In the footage, three men dressed entirely in black, with their faces covered, are seen fleeing in a red 2016 Jeep Grand Cheroke pickup truck. The last time the three suspects were seen they were heading in the direction of Grand Central Parkway.
This group of men is designated for the alleged commission of the murder of Xavier Roberts, 22 years old, and Jaheim Hamilton, 21 years old. On the night of the NYPD responded to the call at the corner of Steinway St. and Astoria Boulevard in Queens after being shot multiple times while walking through a restaurant district.
According to witnesses, the two victims were walking down Steinway Street with Roberts’ brother when a gunman began shooting at them. Xavier Roberts had no criminal record, but was required by the courts to appear for two shootings that occurred in 2019 and 2020, while Hamilton had been arrested once for a misdemeanor.
So far the authorities have not been able to identify those responsible for these deaths, but they are carrying out the pertinent investigations.
