A survey of more than 3,000 active self-employed workers by Qwick, a service workforce employment platform, found that more than 87% of respondents experienced better mental and physical health and 79% reported stronger personal relationships as result of flexible work.

Among the additional findings of the survey, it is highlighted that:

– 74% of respondents expect more shifts in 2023, compared to 2022.
– More than 67% said they have a full-time or part-time job in addition to self-employment.
– 63% of those surveyed work as freelancers to meet basic needs instead of earning supplementary income.
– 60% of those surveyed use a platform like Qwick to work as a freelancer.
– Almost 55% of those surveyed resort to shift work to make their own hours.

“This survey helps us better understand how Qwick fits into the lives of our freelancers and gain more insight into their needs, preferences and challenges so we can better serve our engaged network that grew 100% last year,” he said. Retta Kekic, Qwick’s director of marketing.
