Former NBA player Lamar Odom, took a radical turn in his life after suffering an overdose that almost caused his death in a brothel located in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 13, 2015. That day, the former athlete came to suffer up to 12 strokes before being taken by the emergency services to the nearest hospital.
After that episode, Odom faced heart problems and suffered from kidney failure for which his now ex-wife Khloé Kardashian had to suspend the divorce process to support him in his long recovery.
But this recovery period was not based only on the physical, but was later admitted to a rehabilitation clinic where he was treated with ketamine, a drug that helped him stay sober initially.
What he experienced at that time and the fact that he was able to survive and recover is seen by the former Los Angeles Lakers player as a second chance in his life, which he wants to take advantage of to help other people overcome their drug addiction problems. drugs.
For this reason, he decided to invest part of his money in a total of four detoxification and treatment houses, two for men and two for women, located in San Diego, El Cajón and Lemon Grove, all in the state of California.
But this project is not carried out alone, and it is that it also has the capital investment of the Christian hip-hop artist Dontae Ralston and the professional skater DD Ralston, with whom he plans to create a complex that he will baptize as ‘Odom Wellness Treatment Centers’.
Lamar Odom’s representative has advanced that he will be “very involved” with the work that is carried out and that he will closely supervise everything related to day-to-day activities at the facilities. It is believed that he will eventually broaden his sights with two more rehab centers in California: in San Diego and in Calabasas, the suburb where part of the Kardashian clan still lives.
