The Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) revealed on Tuesday the sanction that will be applied against referee Fernando Hernández, who kneed the Esmeraldas de León footballer, Lucas Romero; This event occurred in the match played on Saturday against the Águilas of Club América at the Azteca Stadium.
According to the governing body of the rules in Aztec football, the whistler will receive a total of 12 matches without imparting justice; The decision occurred after several days of investigation in which those responsible analyzed each of the reasons why Hernández decided to carry out this coup.
“Mr. Fernando Hernández Gómez, central referee of the match, is sanctioned by the Disciplinary Commission with a 12-match suspension, for violating Article 30 paragraph g) of the FMF Sanctions Regulations, by engaging in violent conduct against a player”, says the text issued by the Disciplinary Commission.
The Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Football Federation also offered details about the sanction applied against Lucas Romero for having incited Hernández’s action, in addition to verbally assaulting the whistler.
The player from León will miss the next two games with La Fiera, which means that he will be absent for the matches against the Máquina de Cruz Azul and Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara.
“Lucas Daniel Romero, is sanctioned with a 2-match suspension for violating the principles of sportsmanship and “Fair Play”, through actions towards match officials, as stipulated in Article 18 paragraph b) of the Sanctions Regulations of the FMF”, added the FMF in its statement.
