michigan-family-has-first-baby-girl-since-1885

A family from Caledonia, Michigan, lived a very special Saint Patrick’s Day in this 2023, since life rewarded them with the arrival of a girl, something that really had not happened for more than a century.

Carolyn Clark married 10 years ago with a man named Andrew, who comes from a family in which only male births have been recorded since 1885, that is, from his father to his great-grandfather they only had children.

When they were dating, Andrew joked with Carolyn telling her to think very seriously if she wanted to marry him, since they were “sentenced” that they would not have daughters; however, she was always convinced that they could father a baby girl.

4 years ago, the couple became parents for the first time and following the line, the woman gave birth to a boy they named Cameron.

The marriage continued in their attempt to have a girl and in 2021, again Carolyn became pregnant but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage.

But life once again smiled at them and 15 months later, Clark was once again waiting sweetly.

For this occasion, she and her husband decided to have a gender reveal party with their family and friends, to whom they distributed cookies filled with icing and that upon biting them they would discover that if it was blue, then they were expecting a boy and if it was pink , they would become parents of a girl.

To everyone’s surprise, the cookie filling was the second color.

A lot of uncertainty during the pregnancy as to whether the baby was really a girl

As expected, the couple and the whole family were very skeptical throughout the pregnancy because they believed that in some ultrasound, things would change and they would be informed that instead of a girl they would have a boy, something that did not happen.

That was how on March 17, Carolyn gave birth to a baby named Audrey Marie, who was born extremely healthy.

In this way, this family broke a streak of 138 in a row of only welcoming children.
