The Tennessee Titans will have a new headquarters that will cost nothing more and nothing less than $2.100 million dollars, and that will become the second most expensive stadium in the NFL.
The announcement was made this Wednesday by the majority owner of the team, Amy Adams Strunk, who pointed out that the institution already has the necessary financing to develop the work.
“For more than 25 years Nashville, Tennessee has been the home of the Titans and with the approval of this new stadium deal we are grateful to know that the Titans will be a part of this great city and state for decades to come,” he said. Strunk.
The remarks were made after the Metro Nashville City Council approved $1.26 billion in public funding for the completion of the state.
The remaining $840 million will be provided by the team with help from the league.
Among the main attractions of this project, it stands out that the structure will have an installed capacity for 60,000 fans and will have a translucent roof.
It is estimated that this work will be completed by the year 2027, and that from that date the stadium can be considered to host a Super Bowl.
At first, the Titans thought about investing in renovating their current headquarters, Nissan Stadium, inaugurated in 1999. The projected initial investment of $600 million dollars doubled to $1.2 billion, which is why they rejected the project to start the negotiations that ended with the approval of a new stadium.
Burke Nihill, President and CEO of the Titans, highlighted the modernity that the new venue will bring to the city for the next three decades.
