A worker at a Popeyes branch in Chicago posted a video in which a colleague of hers destroyed the restaurant where the two worked. The reason was that the man had not received his pay for a month.
So far, the video of the worker, who goes by the name of Sarah and has the username @itsrah26 on TikTok, already has more than 84,000 views.
In the video, the worker is shown throwing chicken pieces and frozen French fries to the ground. He also knocked over shelves and cut the electrical cords of the cash registers.
The woman also recorded the inside of the empty cash register, without bills. And on the image you could read a phrase that said: “At least he got his money”, suggesting that the worker took the money.
He also recorded another employee talking to a police officer. Sarah did not say whether or not her partner was arrested.
TikTok users who saw the video were surprised that the worker had been working without pay for a month.
They also commented that they did not blame him for having destroyed the place.
Still others commented that the worker should have sued Popeyes for not paying him.
“I understand your anger, but now you definitely won’t get paid. (Popeyes) is a corporation and could have sued and gotten a nice settlement check,” wrote one user.
Other users said that perhaps the worker had children, and that the company should not have delayed his pay for so long.
Other people joked that Popeyes won’t waste food, and will pick it up off the ground to sell.
