The Colombian Film Festival New York, the most important Colombian film window in the world, returns to celebrate its ten years connecting the Colombian diaspora with their country through cinema.

From May 4 to 7, in the theaters of the Quad Cinema, the most innovative and contemporary Colombian cinema will be shown, as well as a variety of old works that, thanks to the alliance with the Colombian Film Heritage Foundation, return to the big screen after your restoration process.

A total of 22 films are part of this new edition of the festival and the documentary “Viva Edy!”, by Carlos Ospina that pays tribute to Edy Martinez, a living Colombian legend who has been an essential part of Afro-Latin music in the world, will be the film that will open this tenth edition.

“Reaching 10 years has not been an easy task and I want to acknowledge and thank all the people who have believed in the festival and who have tirelessly supported it for so many years. From our wonderful public to each of the sponsors, volunteers and friends who accompany us every year. Our greatest reward is the joy of an audience that, wrapped in nostalgia, embraces us to travel together to our country”, says Juan Carvajal, founder and director of the festival.

To celebrate these 10 years, the chosen image was a still from “Bolívar I am Yo”, by the teacher Jorge Alí Triana.
