two-year-old-baby-in-georgia-dies-after-being-shot-in-the-head

A new tragedy occurred in the city of LaGrange in Troup County, Georgia: a two-year-old baby died after being shot in the head, according to information published by WSB-TV.

The baby was identified as Ayden King, according to a Fox 5 Atlanta article.

According to police reports, the event occurred shortly after 8:30 PM last Wednesday. At that time, authorities responded to an emergency call at the Phoenix Apartments, located on Whitesville Street, indicating that a two-year-old infant had been shot.

Once the police arrived at the apartment, they found the baby with a gunshot wound to the head. The minor was taken to a hospital, but it was not possible to save him: he died from his injuries shortly after arriving at Well Star West Georgia Medical Center.

Police are currently investigating what happened and are trying to determine how the boy gained access to the firearm.

The LaGrange Police Department said it is currently investigating “how the child got the gun, where the gun was, if there was negligence or if it was an accident.” This was reported by WSB-TV.

The police indicated that inside the apartment where the event occurred were two adults and three other children.

As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with the two-year-old’s death. The hypothesis that the police forces handle is that it could have been a tragic accident, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

US President Joe Biden has said that guns “are leading the murders of children in America, and the numbers are going up, not down. This is terrible and unacceptable.”

In a statement issued by the White House on April 16, Biden urged the national Congress to evaluate the implementation of reforms that reduce these types of incidents.
