A woman in Cobb County, located in the state of Georgia, was arrested after passing out in her vehicle while driving through a McDonald’s drive-thru. Identified as Kelsey Warren, the woman admitted to police officers that she was high.
The woman passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle while she was accompanied by her daughter, a one-year-old baby.
According to WSB-TV, employees at the McDonald’s, located on Bells Ferry Road, called 911 to report the woman. The employees claimed that Warren was “visibly drugged” and that the minor was just looking at her.
WSB-TV reporters had access to audiovisual material in which it was possible to observe how the police forces comforted the baby while they arrested Warren.
Likewise, police records obtained by Channel 2 Action News indicate that officers described Warren as having difficulty even speaking.
The woman admitted to having “used heroin 15 hours before the event,” an officer said, according to WSB-TV, and had difficulty staying awake, as well as making sentences and/or conversations.
Police officers found a syringe inside Warren’s car, as well as some cocaine. They later discovered that the woman was addicted to heroin.
After what happened, a group of paramedics evaluated the physical condition of the baby before being handed over to state officials.
Warren was arrested on multiple charges, including:
– Possession of controlled substances.
– Possession of cocaine.
– Contribute to the delinquency of a minor.
– Driving under the influence of drugs or opioids.
– Putting a child at risk by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
According to information from the National Drug Intelligence Center, more than three million people in the United States have used heroin at least once in their lives. It is an illegal substance that is sold on the streets and has caused a large number of deaths in the country.
Treatment for people addicted to heroin includes pharmacological and behavioral therapies.
