he-got-to-second-base-with-only-one-bunt:-the-incredible-speed-of-michael-taylor-(video)

This Friday the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals with a score of 8-6 in a match that had many particularities, including an extra-base hit on a bunt produced by center fielder Michael Taylor.

It was the bottom of the fourth inning and with a man on third and only one out, Taylor went to bunt to bring a new run for the Twins. The play went as planned and the runner from third scored on the run.

But the surprise came when catcher Salvador Pérez caught the ball and seeing that there was no possible play at first due to Taylor’s great speed, he remained reflected on the field. Taylor took advantage of the fact that second base was not taken care of and he launched into the race until second where he arrived safely.

This marked Taylor’s 20th hit so far this season. This play was key to winning the game at Target Field and putting the Twins with a record of 16 wins and 11 losses at the top of the American League Central Division.
