British actress Karen Guillan confesses that she is happy because she can still walk the streets of Los Angeles, California, and have a coffee without being chased by fans or the paparazzi. But she also wants to live like the stars and has agreed to open the doors of her home to the specialized magazine ‘Architectural Digest’.

Guilla, known for being Nebula in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, recently moved into a property with her husband, comedian Nick Kocher.

Although this is the couple’s first shared home, they wanted it to immediately become the perfect place for them. That it had a clear style and that it covered the tastes and needs of both.

For the interior design work, the couple hired Pierce & Ward. This is a renowned studio that, according to ‘Architectural Digest’: “is known for creating living spaces with an old world feel and a dash of glamour”.

Unlike other Hollywood stars, the couple didn’t give the designers many specifics, they just wanted the place to end up looking great. And the goal was achieved, as ‘Architectural Digest’ reviewed the place in its magazine.

Although they were not asked, the Pierce & Ward designers decided to be inspired by Scotland, the actress’s native country.

The 2,400-square-foot home features tiled roofs, French windows, wainscoting in some spaces, built-in bookshelves, and more. For decoration they used curvilinear brass chandeliers, floral wallpaper on the walls, custom made furniture, rustic upright piano, green coffee table and many antiques.

Upon entering the house you can see a large main staircase. Guillan jokes that this ladder allows him to go down in fabulous shape every day.

The kitchen looks like something out of a movie. It has white cabinets, a central island and high-end appliances. It also has two large windows that make the space bright with natural light during the day.
